"Winter Trees" is a series of compositions created from photographs taken in Jardim da Estrela, Lisbon, during winter. The trees, stripped of their leaves, reveal trunks and branches that resemble exposed veins, drawing an intimate parallel with the human body.
The images were digitally reworked to remove the sky and converted to black and white, enhancing their wintry and nostalgic character. Layered with paper and film transparencies, they evoke different atmospheres: some works recall misty days, others the softness of diffused light, and others simply the quiet stillness of a winter day.
In this contemplation, the trees emerge as both vulnerable and protective beings — magical, silent confidants that invite us to pause and listen.

"Winter Trees" é uma série de composições criadas a partir de fotografias tiradas, na maioria, no Jardim da Estrela, em Lisboa, durante o inverno. As árvores, despidas de folhas, revelam troncos e ramos que se assemelham a veias expostas, num paralelo íntimo com o corpo humano.
As imagens foram trabalhadas digitalmente para remover o céu e convertidas em preto e branco, acentuando o caráter invernal e nostálgico. Sobrepostas com transparências de papel e películas, evocam diferentes atmosferas: alguns trabalhos remetem para dias de nevoeiro, outros para a suavidade da luz difusa, e outros simplesmente para a calma silenciosa de um dia de inverno.
Nesta contemplação, as árvores surgem como seres vulneráveis e, ao mesmo tempo, protetores — mágicos e silenciosos confidentes que convidam à pausa e à escuta.
